Responsibilities Project Planning and Execution
- Attendance at the final contract negotiations, with the client and ANDRITZ colleagues to agree scope split, schedule etc.
- Local project management support for projects, e.g. interface with sub-contractors, document preparation and client meetings.
- Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager at the headquarters to provide updates on project progress.
- Manage the project budget, timeline, and scope effectively.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Support the sales process for projects in Malaysia and neighboring countries, including preparation of offers and bids, in line with directives from the sales team.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals during the bidding phase.
Team Management and Coordination
- Coordinate the daily activities of engineers, technicians, and other team members involved in the project.
- Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations and meet local requirements.
- Monitor the performance of on-site teams and establish feedback mechanisms for improvement.
- Manage relationships with client, local suppliers and subcontractors.
Technical and Operational Management
- Ensure the accurate and complete preparation of technical documentation.
- Oversee the resolution of technical issues arising during the hydroelectric power plant rehabilitation projects.
- Manage the local procurement and logistics of materials, equipment, and resources.
- Local support concerning the “offshore portion” (e.g. customs clearance, work permits, taxes, letter of credit, logistics etc.)
- Support of site manager to establish on-site procurement e.g. frame agreements, catalogue buying, site setup etc.
- Support the site manager during the site installation phase, from site establishment through to commissioning and site demobilisation.
- To support commissioning activities with the client and internal resource, e.g., designers and commissioning engineers, ensuring compliance with internal and client rules, such as applicable Safe System of Work.
- Handle technical modifications during the project and complete necessary approval processes.
Reporting and Communication
- Provide regular progress reports to the Project Manager at the headquarters.
- Disciplinary to the KL office.
- Effectively communicate with local government authorities, regulatory bodies, and communities to support project processes.
- Identify potential project risks and challenges in advance, implement necessary measures, and report to senior management.
- Provide sales support feedback and market analysis reports to the sales team.
Quality Control and Supervision
- Ensure the implementation of quality control processes throughout the project.
- Manage testing and acceptance procedures to verify project completion to required standards.
- Ensure timely and complete delivery of project outcomes upon completion.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical / energy systems engineering, or a related field.
- Around 5 years of experience in hydroelectric power plant projects or the energy sector.
- Knowledge and experience in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Familiarity with local regulations and OHS requirements.
- Proficiency in English and Malay.
