Job title:  Industrial Millwright Mechanic

APPLICABLE PROCEDURES

Performs mechanical, corrective and preventative maintenance on all equipment.  Performs electrical maintenance and machining assignments, within the scope of his abilities.

Current salary for Red Seal is $36.77 plus shift premiums.  We offer a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, EAP, Voluntary Pension Plan, and Vision Care.

We are looking for someone with at least 2 years experience but will consider less.  They must have their Red Seal. We will employ an apprentice working toward their Red Seal. Salary for an apprentice is $32.77 plus shift premiums.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1       Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctioning equipment.

2.2       Carried out electrical and instrumentation repairs within the scope of his abilities.

2.3       Conducts preventative maintenance inspections.

2.4       Installs new equipment and modifies existing equipment as assigned.

2.5       Oils, greases and ensures correct lubrication of all machines and equipment.

2.6       Operates shop machining equipment to repair and fabricate equipment as assigned.

2.7       Reports completed work on service forms or in log book.

2.8       Occasionally will act as a crew leader when working on a major project.

2.9       Works according to Department and Plant Safety Rules at all times.

2.10     Maintains good housekeeping practice at all times and assists, as required, with the           maintenance of security.

2.11     Undertakes special assignments as directed by the Maintenance Superintendent or his       delegate.

2.12     Maintains tool assortment which are to be of sufficient quantity and quality to perform     assignments.

2.13     Perform property  maintenance tasks, including janitorial services, floor     sweeping/waxing, grass mowing and snow shovelling.

2.14     Working Conditions:  Mechanical work is frequently greasy and dusty.  It is frequently     necessary to monitor machine performance while machine is in operation.  Electrical     work requires testing of energized systems.  Some exposure to unpleasant fumes.

FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Must have successfully completed a recognized certification program including prerequisite courses.
