Job Summary:
Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) Coordinator is to ensure the effective implementation and management of quality, health, safety, and environmental systems within the project and office. This includes overseeing the integration of QHSE standards, coordinating with project teams and quality functions across various locations, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The QHSE Coordinator will also be responsible for preparing and executing project-specific health, safety, and environmental plans, supporting the implementation of essential quality and safety processes on-site, facilitating root cause analysis of major non-conformities, and managing quality documentation and audits. Through these efforts, the QHSE Coordinator aims to maintain high safety, quality, and environmental performance standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of the project-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental Plan:
- Collaborating with the Project Manager and Health and Safety Advisor to develop and implement the HSE plan.
- Coordinating the execution of the plan to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
2. Support with the implementation of essential quality and safety processes and rules at the site:
- Providing follow-up and training to ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols.
- Monitoring and supporting the implementation of these processes on-site.
3. Facilitation of Root Cause Analysis of major Non-Conformities:
- Leading investigations into significant non-conformities to identify root causes.
- Implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
4. Collaboration with the General Affairs (GA) department:
- Regularly inspecting and ensuring the readiness of fire extinguishers and other safety equipment in the office.
- Working closely to ensure all office safety protocols are followed.
- Coordinating safety drills and compliance checks.
- Manage annual training on fire drills, first aid, and other relevant topics for all employees and create a report.
5. Coordination of project-specific Quality requirements:
- Working closely with the Project Manager and Quality Functions to define and meet quality standards.
- Ensuring all project-specific quality requirements are addressed.
6. Collaboration with the Project Procurement Leader for supplier-related topics:
- Working together on supplier evaluation, qualification, and control of supplies.
- Identifying synergies and ensuring supplier compliance with quality standards.
7. Coordination of quality documentation requirements:
- Manage and coordinate the documentation of quality-related activities.
- Ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and maintained.
8. Coordination of project-specific Quality, Health and Safety, and Environmental Audits:
- Organizing and coordinating audits with the Project Manager and Quality Functions.
- Ensuring compliance with customer and site audit requirements.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the hydropower industry
Technical competencies:
- High proficiency in English both verbal and written
- Proficiency in implementing and managing QMS (Quality Management Systems) in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
- Ability to conduct internal audits and manage quality documentation.
- Knowledge of HSE regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Experience in developing and implementing HSE plans and conducting risk assessments.
- Expertise in identifying root causes of non-conformities and implementing corrective actions.
- Ability to coordinate and manage QHSE activities within project timelines and budgets.
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Skills in evaluating, qualifying, and monitoring suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Experience in supplier audits and managing supplier-related issues.
- Proficiency in planning and coordinating internal and external audits.
- Ability to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory audit requirements.
- Certifications in Health and Safety and Environmental Management are preferred.

- Strong analytical abilities to assess data, identify trends, and make decisions
- Capability to perform detailed analysis of quality and safety metrics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey QHSE information
- Ability to liaise with project teams, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
- Problem-solving abilities to address and resolve QHSE issues
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance
- Able to work on your initiative without supervision.
