GENERAL DESCRIPTION
As Head of Product Management, you will be responsible for defining and leading the strategic direction, development and performance of our global product portfolio. With your entrepreneurial personality, you will drive our product portfolio to global market leadership by effectively orchestrating the required tasks and collaborators. You will make a significant contribution to the global business growth of our product portfolio in terms of sales, profitability, competitiveness and resilience. You recognize and fulfil the true needs of our customers, and you will be able to make our products stand out from the competition. You build, lead and develop a strong global product management team and you cultivate a productive collaboration with the internal key stakeholders. You will make a significant contribution to our evolution from a pure equipment supplier to a comprehensive solution provider.
The preferred location is either in Esbjerg (Denmark) or Geldrop (The Netherlands) and report directly to the VP Business Unit Capital.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Monitoring, analyzing and optimizing the business performance of EFB’s overall product portfolio by cleaning out low-performers and expanding high-performers – for this purpose, implementing and managing suitable KPIs, tools and processes.
- Implementation of a strong 4P marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion) in all product groups by introducing and training the relevant methods, tools and processes.
- Overall responsibility for ROI-based life cycle management and strategic product innovation (roadmap and implementation).
- Building a strong and successful product management team with right skillset, competencies and mindset; fostering continuous learning and development among team members; leading, developing and mentoring the product management team.
- Productive collaboration with the internal key stakeholders, such as other Bus, industry manager, and Manufacturing/Operations.
- Building up and maintaining market intelligence incl. understanding market trends, customer requirements, competitor analysis, price, and performance analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Development of the value proposition and USPs (unique selling points) the key products.
- New product launches designed and conducted in cooperation with MarCom.
- Development of product-specific business plans in collaboration with the Industry Managers, Regional Sales and Service, Business Innovation and Engineering.
- Definition and implementation of a 3-tier modular portfolio architecture (premium, economy, competitive) for specific markets, customer segments, production sites, etc.
- Establishing ‘one product management’ organization, processes and mindset across EFB.
- Supporting EFB’s strategic transformation of from a pure equipment supplier to a comprehensive solution, offering plant solutions, service and maintenance packages, application technology engineering, automation and digitalization.
- Product training and support – internally and externally.
- Systematically recording and processing on-site data for optimization purposes.
- Continuously capturing and reporting the customers’ key pains and gains.
- Definition and adherence to clear roles & responsibilities in interaction with Sales & Service, R&D, MarCom, etc.
- Implementation of appropriate systems to enable prompt, efficient, and effective product management work.
- Business oriented (rather than technical) management reporting.
SCHOOL EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
- Master of business administration or similar.
- Advanced studies in business, marketing or similar.
- Specialized seminars/training in product management.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Product Management: +10 years of specific experience in industrial B2B product management.
- Position: Managed teams of +10 members in larger industrial corporates, +5 years as a director or similar.
- Industries: Knowledge of the markets, products, processes and customer requirements in the manufacturing of equipment for the feed & biofuel industry (i.e. animal feed, aqua feed, pet food, biomass) or similar.
- Technologies: Knowledge of EFB key technologies, i.e. grinding, mixing, conditioning, pelleting, extrusion, cooling, drying, coating and/or material handling.
- Cultures: Experience in leading intercultural teams spread across several locations and internal collaboration with business units in different world regions and time zones.
- Product portfolio ownership, project portfolio management and business development.
- Product management methodologies (4P marketing mix, etc.).
- Business effective interaction with customers external key stakeholders.
- Market analysis & research.
- Strategic portfolio and innovation management.
- Regulatory & compliance affairs.
- Technical/technological background to be able to discuss with engineers and R&D on a professional level.
- Sound commercial know-how to manage pricing, profitability, ROI, etc.
- Excellent English language skills, other languages good to know.
