POSITION SUMMARY

Allen-Sherman-Hoff (A-S-H): Member of the Andritz Group is looking for a Manager of Proposals & Pricing in Exton, PA office. This manager is a direct contributor role that leads cross-functional teams to execute proposal opportunities across the business unit whether they are project or parts opportunities. Proposal projects include all material handling opportunities including traditional bottom and fly ash transport through material handling opportunities in all available markets. This position does not have direct reports to support the proposal and pricing efforts but also must motivate individual team members across a range of functions and disciplines. Working closely with the ASH business developers, estimating, engineering, and sales to develop bid-winning technical and commercial strategy, scope of supply, division of work, project execution plan, cost, and schedule, this individual is also responsible for writing, producing, and overseeing the best-in-class proposal documents.

 

DUTIES

  • Analyze incoming requests for proposals (RFPs) and build compliant, strategic, and accurate responses that reflect A-S-H’s mission and goals. Review and interpret customer’ specifications and prepare exceptions and clarification while maintaining A-S-H’s competitive advantage.
  • Ensure smooth transition of all information and documentation to the project team upon contract award in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Produce budgets and offer to sell proposals in accordance with company guidelines, policies, and procedures. Organize and conduct periodic status updates, cost reviews, strategy meetings, and management reviews.
  • Lead proposal team and coordinate activities of different functions and disciplines to ensure timely submission of best-in-class proposals. Interface with partners, A/E’s, sales reps, and third parties during the bid phase.
  • Work closely with A-S-H subject matter experts to establish a strong awareness of proposal resources and a clearly defined process. Serve as a point of contact for the proposal group.
  • Partner with project managers during post-bid follow-up including commercial and technical contract negotiations, PO acceptance negotiations, entering message initiation, and turnover meetings.
  • Drive process and content standardization within the Proposal team to maximize efficiency and ensure benchmark quality.
  • Manage the review and interpretation of customer specifications and prepare exceptions and clarifications while maintaining A-S-H’s competitive advantage. Interface with various internal entities and operating departments to obtain timely and accurate inputs to support the execution plan.
  • Formulate and outline A-S-H’s technical and commercial positions in consultation with Engineering, Legal, Supply Chain, Project Management, Business Units, and other areas and departments.
  • Develop the initial Project Execution Plan and Price Approval Request documentation, including technical and commercial risk assessment for presentation to management.
  • Obtain approvals for pricing, commercial and technical positions, and review risks/opportunities with the Business Unit Director.
  • Mentor and assist in training less experienced proposal managers as necessary.
  • Utilize extensive A-S-H knowledge to produce quality proposals.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
