Brief Description

 

We are seeking a highly motivated Application Engineer for our Threading Group with expertise in the paper and pulp industry to join our team. In this role, you will act as the technical liaison between our customers and internal teams, ensuring successful implementation, integration, and optimization of our products and solutions. You will provide technical expertise, troubleshoot issues, and deliver exceptional customer support throughout the application lifecycle.

 

This position involves delivering innovative application solutions for paper manufacturing processes, ensuring optimal performance of our products and systems. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to improve efficiency, quality, and sustainability in paper production.

 

As a Tail Threading Application Engineer at Andritz, you're not just providing technical sales support for our safety and productivity solutions; you're a crucial link in connecting and communicating with our customers. Imagine being at the forefront of making paper production safer for machine Operators while boosting profits for companies.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to understand customer requirements and propose tailored solutions.
  • Configure, implement, and optimize applications to meet client needs.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for application-related issues.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and technical presentations for customers.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to communicate customer feedback and contribute to product improvements.
  • Develop and maintain technical and commercial documentation, including user guides and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other product groups to develop complete customer solutions
  • 20–40% regional travel to customer sites and facilities, with occasional international travel for global meetings or training
  • Supervise and support equipment installation and perform physical tasks in an industrial environment.  

Qualifications (Required)

  • Post-Secondary level education, in engineering, automation, technology, or similar
  • 3+ years technical sales, service and/or product management experience
  • Experience in the pulp and paper industry is preferred.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in the field both independently and with Service Technicians
  • Have a service mindset and customer focus
  • Self-motivated, able to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities
  • Familiarity with Office 365 products is required,
  • Basic working knowledge AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAP is preferred.
  • Additional spoken languages such as French, is a benefit
