Role Description

To strengthen our technical team, we are looking for an R&D Engineer with proven experience in product development, design improvement, and industrial innovation within a structured manufacturing environment.

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing new products, improving existing solutions, and contributing to the optimization of materials, processes, and technical performance. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including Production, Purchasing, Suppliers, Project Management, Mechanical Design, Sales, and Service to ensure that new developments are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with customer and business needs.

This position requires a proactive, analytical, and hands-on professional with a strong engineering mindset, capable of managing technical activities from concept to validation, commissioning support, and industrial implementation, while also cooperating with the Group Technology function on innovation initiatives and technical know-how development.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop new products and technologies in line with business needs and technical requirements.
  • Perform technical feasibility analyses and requirement studies through CAD tools and product analysis.
  • Support product design and technical validation activities, including testing, prototyping, and simulations.
  • Prepare and maintain project technical documentation, including drawings, tables, bills of materials, and reports.
    • Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Suppliers, Project Management, Mechanical Design, Sales, and Service to ensure effective project execution.
    • Interface with the external consultant responsible for technical and safety compliance, including CE-related requirements; prior knowledge in this area will be considered a plus.
    • Provide support during installation and commissioning phases to ensure technical solutions are correctly implemented.
    • Visit plants for on-site surveys, verification of adopted solutions, and definition of corrective actions for any technical issues.
  • Collaborate with the Group Technology department to align developments, share know-how, and support innovation initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Proven experience in a similar R&D role, preferably within the relevant industrial sector.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and Solid Edge; familiarity with simulation tools will be considered a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of technical standards and product safety requirements.
  • Availability to travel occasionally for short business trips.
  • Strong teamworking attitude and ability to cooperate effectively with other departments such as Service, Purchasing, and Production.
  • High level of accuracy, strong problem-solving skills, and a results-oriented mindset with the ability to meet deadlines; excellent interpersonal and mediation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience gained in structured industrial environments, preferably within the mechanical or manufacturing sector.
  • Knowledge of testing methods, technical simulations, and product validation processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and product lifecycle or technical documentation management tools.
  • Knowledge of CE marking processes and technical compliance requirements will be considered a plus.
