To strengthen our focus on product safety and compliance, the ANDRITZ Group Quality & Safety Management (GQS) is looking for a dedicated Product Safety Engineer (m/f/d). This role supports our Quality and Environment pillar and ensures our products meet the highest safety standards.

What can you expect?

  • Identify guidelines, regulations, directives, and technical requirements for importing into specific countries and prepare relevant documentation for the organization.
  • Compile this information for training purposes and, if required, conduct the training or arrange for the development of an e-learning course.
  • Define and develop safety standards for the ANDRITZ GROUP.
  • Establish and manage processes for safety standards.
  • Implement a functional safety management plan.
  • Review safety solutions with internal safety advisors and external safety consultants.
  • Advise sales and execution teams on machinery or process safety matters.
  • Facilitate process hazard analyses and the implementation of safety solutions with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Classify safety functions according to SIL or PL.
  • Manage safety audits.
  • Prepare studies for explosive atmosphere zoning.

 

What do you bring to the table?

  • Degree level qualification in an engineering discipline
  • At least three years of experience in designing, reviewing, and implementing safety solutions within process sectors such as chemicals, oil and gas, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals, or food and beverage. Experience in managing safety design implementations is considered beneficial.
  • Familiarity with various safety tools and methods for process hazard analysis (e.g., HAZOP, HAZID, FMEA), risk reduction layering techniques (e.g., LOPA), and implementation of safety instrumented functions.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO 12100 or equivalents), directives (e.g., Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC), and experience with European product certification processes (such as CE marking) would be advantageous. Experience conducting ATEX studies is also considered an asset.
  • CMSE Certified Machinery Safety Expert, Safety manager, TÜV approved CE coordinator, or similar certified training is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills with a structured work approach.
  • Focus on solutions, teamwork, and customer needs, with the ability to act proactively.
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to our locations, factories and construction sites worldwide
