The Role

Under the direction of  Plant Manager , the Truck Driver is responsible for  assuring proper load placement and securing for safe transportation of modules and components to and from the customer.  Must pre-trip inspect and maintain the vehicles.  Accountable for complete and accurate trip log or daily timesheet, and all related paperwork.  Responsible for obtaining necessary customer signatures on paperwork and turning in completed paperwork on time.  Maintain housekeeping of truck bay areas.

Requirements

 

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Key Result Items

  • Operate & maintain vehicle and required paperwork per company guidelines.
  • Pre-trip inspection of oils and fluids to assure it is safe to operate.
  • Verify order at time of loading to avoid transporting wrong order.
  • Deliver orders in a timely manner.
  • Complete daily timesheets and related paperwork.
  • Adhere to both company and customer safety requirements.
  • When available, follow customer specific procedures for delivery requirements.
  • Truck must be kept clean and fueled up.
  • Help turn supervisor as requested.
  • Have and use all required Safety Equipment (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, long sleeve shirts).

Job Specific Competencies

  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Crane safety training, ISO 9001:2008, fork truck, hazardous waste program and hazardous communication training is required.
  • Good communication skills are a must.

 

 

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
