Senior Accounting Analyst
Charlotte, NC - hybrid
Summary of the role
The Senior Accountant is a critical member of the US Hydro team, supporting financial operations across controlling, manufacturing, and cross-functional departments including Accounting, Commercial Management, and HR. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Controlling, this role handles daily and monthly financial tasks, identifies and resolves issues in a dynamic environment, and ensures accurate reporting to both corporate and plant leadership.
Key qualifications include advanced Excel skills, strong adaptability with financial systems, and a solid understanding of project accounting. The role also involves monthly reconciliations, invoice processing, and training team members on tools like the timesheet system and Concur in small group or one-on-one settings.
The following responsibilities form the core of this role:
- Processing AP invoices for the manufacturing facility.
- Conducting monthly sales & use tax assessments, updating annual property assets, and processing tax bills.
- Performing monthly manufacturing reconciliation of personnel hours, tracking, and posting manufacturing site work.
- Reporting manufacturing results to management monthly.
- Managing TimeControl for personnel hours, including weekly posting, monthly reconciliation, and reporting. Processing requested adjustments from the commercial management team upon approval, as well as training new personnel.
- Initial reviewer/approver of field service site purchases via credit card in Concur. Providing instruction on coding and corrections as well as monitoring policy compliance.
- Weekly posting of craft labor by project, and WBS, utilizing LMS site system. Troubleshooting with project team on incorrect or missing coding.
- Setting up and providing access to LMS for new personnel and managing access with new project additions.
- Creating or improving Excel solutions for various reporting, tracking, and forecasting processes, leveraging your expertise.
- Supporting external and internal audits. Maintaining well-documented files to present a clear audit trail.
- Supporting Financial Controlling in coordination with Commercial Management on various needs or improvements.
- Assisting Management with various ad hoc projects.

- Bachelor’s in Accounting or relevant experience
- 5-10 years relevant work experience in finance/accounting
- SAP experience a plus
- Strong computer skills, e.g. Excel expert.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-disciplined with the proven ability to prioritize work and manage multiple simultaneous activities
- Proficient in researching and interpreting internal and external accounting policies and regulations.
- Possesses strong problem-solving skills with the ability to self-identify and propose effective solutions
- Must be assertive and highly proactive with the ability to adhere to strict reporting deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency with a strong understanding of its functionalities and features to create dynamic reporting solutions.
