Project Procurement Specialist
Charlotte, NC - hybrid
Summary of the role
Andritz Hydro is looking for an experienced procurement professional with an educational and professional background in supply chain management and project coordination. The Project Procurement Specialist oversees the process of acquiring necessary goods, services, and equipment from external sources to meet specific project objectives.
They will be responsible for planning procurements, identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations and project standards, managing vendor relationships, and monitoring performance to ensure the project's success within budget and schedule.
The following responsibilities form the core of this role:
- Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers;
- Issue Purchase Orders and Manage PO revisions;
- Enforce and negotiate commercial terms and conditions and all contractual requirements;
- Follow up and expedite suppliers on deliveries and review vendor schedules;
- Document Minutes of Meeting during vendor calls and maintain action item registers;
- Respond to or facilitate suppliers questions;
- Communicate with Project team and system engineers for project details (budgets, requisitions, specifications, delivery dates, etc.);
- Ensure suppliers have the appropriate documentation to proceed with work;
- Work closely with accounts payables to reconcile invoices and provide supporting documentation;
- Coordinate with the logistics coordinator, vendors and site installation, for the shipment of orders;
- Support the site installation for urgent purchases of missing/lost contract parts;
- Reporting as required by department or senior management;

- Bachelors degree in engineering or supply chain management or finance;
- 5+ years of experience as an industrial buyer of complex systems or in similar industries;
- Experience with SAP purchasing software, is an asset;
- Experience with the purchase of large steel parts, is an asset
- Experience with the purchase of custom deigned equipment, is an asset
- Good understanding of commercial terms and conditions of purchase;
- Beginner to intermediate of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point;
- Self-starter, motivated and can work with minimal supervision;
- Assertive and highly proactive with the ability to stimulate action to achieve on time delivery of parts, equipment and materials;
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and self-disciplined with the ability to prioritize work and manage multiple simultaneous activities;
- Employs fair, ethical and transparent procurement practices;
- Demonstrated positive relationships with internal/external customers;
- Knowledge of market trends, supply chain concepts and purchasing best practices.
