SR Service Engineer

Charlotte, NC - hybrid

 

Summary of the role 


The SR Service Engineer is a skilled Mechanical Engineer with strength in design. They will be joining the Service & Rehabilitation (SR) side of our Engineering team who handle smaller and shorter projects. Their main responsibility is in design, but they will also work alongside other teams such as Sales, Purchasing, Project Management, and Quality.

 

The following responsibilities form the core of this role: 

 

  • Provides reviews and approvals of designs and technical documentation.
  • Reviews and manages the technical requirements of contracts
  • Develops service/repair designs and concepts
  • Performs calculations required to support the specific needs of service projects
  • Effectively communicates required work to designers and drafters as needed 
  • Resolves technical issues related to projects.
  • Develops quality requirements of components.
  • Assists Sales Department in project bids.
  • Assists Sales Department with inspections and associated proposals for service projects.
  • Provides assistance to project management in technical tasks related to the service and refurbishment of hydro-turbines and related equipment.
  • Assists Purchasing in reviewing quotes and purchase orders for completeness.
  • Interfaces with clients regarding technical matters.
  • Creates project specific procedures and specifications.
  • Creates inspection and test plans to support project requirements.

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3+ years experience in mechanical design and service of large industrial equipment
  • 3D / 2D CAD proficiency preferred.
  • AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX
  • Working knowledge in capital equipment, welding, custom fabrication, machining
  • Experience designing large rotating equipment.
  • Detailed oriented
  • Ability to prioritize work and maintain deadlines
