Summary of the role

 

Andritz Hydro Corp is seeking a Finance Manager to lead core  activities and drive financial discipline across our Charlotte operations. This role is responsible for financial close and reporting, accounts payable leadership, budgeting and forecasting, and cash flow management in a project-driven EPC environment. The Financial Controller acts as a trusted business partner, providing actionable financial insights to support operational excellence and project delivery. Experience with SAP and EPC project accounting is highly desirable.

 

  • Own and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and management reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis).
  • Lead and develop the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate vendor setup, three-way matching, payment runs, discrepancy resolution, and optimization of AP aging and Days Payable Outstanding (DPO).
  • Drive annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes in collaboration with operational leaders; monitor performance versus plan and recommend corrective actions.
  • Forecast and manage weekly cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements, coordinate with Treasury on funding needs and foreign exchange matters where applicable.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and balance sheet reconciliations; support internal and external audits; ensure compliance with IFRS and company policies.
  • Provide value-added financial analysis, KPIs, dashboards, and “what-if” insights to support leadership decision-making.
  • Coach, develop, and engage finance team members while collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, HR, and Commercial teams.
  • Promote continuous improvement, automation, and process efficiency using SAP, Excel, and BI tools.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Financial Controller, senior accounting, or FP&A role; EPC project environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Solid understanding of project accounting, including WBS structures, cost centers, revenue recognition, and cost-to-complete methodologies.
  • Proven leadership experience, particularly in managing and developing Accounts Payable or transactional finance teams.
  • SAP experience (FI/CO, PS, MM) is a definite asset; advanced Excel skills required; exposure to Power BI or other reporting tools is an asset.
  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and prioritization skills.
