Business Development Manager Automation

Charlotte, NC - hybrid

 

Summary of the role

The open position is for a Business Development Manager Automation for the Hydro division to cover the US market and customers. The role will cover US customers and is based in Charlotte, NC

 

  • Business development and marketing activities in US for the Hydro division Automation offering (excitation systems, speed governors, protection and control);
  • Visit customers and consultants regularly to establish close relationships with key Automation contacts in coordination with key account managers;
  • Understand and communicate customer needs to the internal teams in order to define the best sales strategies for the Automation  projects;
  • Establish pre-bid strategies and influence customer specifications and contracting models prior to RFP issuance; 
  • Regularly follow-up with customers to track and prioritize future project lists and identify resource and R&D requirements;
  • Communicate at all levels of the customer organization to keep a high visibility for ANDRITZ;
  • Work in close collaboration with the Automation proposal team to produce a winning proposal that meets or exceeds customer expectations;
  • Prepare budget offers to customers with support from the proposal team;
  • Organization or participation in external seminars and conferences;
  • Maintain all Sales Reporting tools & CRM with latest data from the customers and the market;
  • Presentations to customers on ANDRITZ Automation product and service offering;
  • Competitor and customer intelligence tracking;
  • Support monthly and quarterly reporting.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant experience;
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in business development or customer account management in Hydro Automation or related field (industrial automation, substation automation);
  • Demonstrated success in securing orders and building customer relationships on a long term basis;
  • Knowledge of commercial contracts and technical specification process for Automation equipment sales;
  • Effective communication skills (oral & written) in a multi-stakeholder environment;
  • Willing to travel extensively, mainly across US;
  • Result oriented, independent, innovative, and dynamic;
  • Knowledge of Automation products (excitation systems, speed governors, protection and control), technical aspects and market related to hydroelectric business desired (an asset);
  • Ability to build up an efficient contact network.
