The product technician is the interface between the engineering and manufacturing teams. He/she ensures that the technical information required for production is correctly entered into the SAP system, and that material lists are complete and up to date. He helps optimize manufacturing processes by providing technical support throughout the product life cycle.

 

The following responsibilities form the core of this role in our Canadian team.

 

•    Liaise between engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure that technical requirements and product specifications are correctly translated into production processes;
•    Enter technical requirements into the SAP system, ensuring accuracy and conformity of information;
•    Create and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) lists, ensuring that they are accurate and up-to-date;
•    Monitor product developments and technical documentation, integrating changes into SAP;
•    Collaborate with production teams to resolve technical problems encountered during manufacturing;
•    Participate in the analysis of production costs according to the materials and components required;
•    Coordinate the management of parts and materials required for manufacturing in collaboration with the procurement and logistics departments;
•    Monitor feedback on the quality of products in production and suggest improvements with the engineering team;
•    Participate in technical reviews and update production documents in line with product developments;
•    Prepare shipping documentation;
•    Ensure inventory accuracy and make adjustments where necessary;
•    Perform inventory transactions on the system;
•    Operate equipment such as forklifts;
•    Assist production as required.

•    DEP, engineering technique or equivalent training ;
•    Experience in a production or technical data management environment, with in-depth knowledge of ERP systems (particularly SAP);
•    Mastery of technical data and manufacturing process management tools;
•    Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly and materials management;
•    Competence in the creation and management of bill of materials (BOM);
•    Knowledge of quality norms, manufacturing standards and regulatory requirements;
•    Good communication and project management skills.
