Andritz Hydro Canada is offering a fall internship with its technical and commercial proposals team for Hydro Automation and Electrical Power Systems (AT & EPS) projects, involving small, medium and complex projects, as well as spare parts and engineering service quotations. This internship will allow you to apply your academic knowledge within a leading company in the hydroelectric field. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative and complex projects, collaborating with seasoned experts. The practical experience gained during the internship will contribute to the development of your mechanical design skills and understanding of engineering processes.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Use of Ai and desktop automation tools to develop and implement solutions to speed up and optimize the bid process, and more specifically to help in the preparation of technical write-ups, fill-in customers' forms, prepare summaries of the scope of work, fill-in legal and technical compliance matrices, consolidate historical information from previously executed projects, and automated workflows and bids approvals.
- Help standardize bid and project schedules for Excitation, Governor, Protection and Control systems (detailing all project phases: engineering, panel manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning activities).
- Assist in putting together estimation tools for effort (hours) and material costs (typical) for: Excitation, Governor, Protection and Control systems under supervision of sales team.
- Under supervision, standardize sales department reports and presentations for upper management.
- Update or create electrical panel material cost database to harmonize part numbers.
What you need to succeed:
- Be enrolled in your second or third year of electrical engineering studies, Software Engineer, Automation Engineer.
- Willingness to explore new topics and learn in an autodidact manner, with little supervision.
- Proficient in the Microsoft office suite, especially Excel.
- Basic knowledge on Microsoft Ai and automation tools, like Copilot Studio and Power Automate.
- Should be able to communicate effectively in both French and English.
- Good communication skills are required in order to interface with the various departments and groups to achieve the above-mentioned objectives.
- Knowledge on SharePoint websites configuration, an asset
- Python, JSON, PowerFX knowledge, an asset
- Knowledge on PowerBI, an asset
