The Electrical Drafting Technician will work in collaboration with our technicians, technologists and electrical engineers of the Protection and Control team. Within our scope of projects for new power plants and/or system rehabilitation.

 

The following responsibilities form the core of this role:

 

•    Design new electrical plans and/or carry out required modifications ;
•    Establish material list ;
•    Establish cable list ;
•    Make corrections to electrical drawings following commissioning.

 

Depending on the candidate's interest in automation, the following responsibilities could be granted:

 

•    Participate in control system development ;
•    Perform programming of programmable logic controllers (PLC) ;
•    Perform SCADA and operator interface programming ;
•    Participate in preliminary and final tests with the client ;
•    Supervise installation, tests, troubleshooting and commissioning on site;
•    Write technical manuals for maintenance and operators.

•    College diploma in electrical engineering or equivalent training;
•    Minimum 3-5 years' experience in electrical drafting ;
•    Good knowledge of software: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Voute Autodesk (required) ;
•    Proven verbal and written communication skills in French and English ;
•    Knowledge of Schneider and/or Allen Bradley PLCs (an asset) ;
•    Knowledge of SCADA software: Wonderware, Citect and/or VTScada (an asset).
