We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical and Automation Engineer to join our aftermarket team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing aftermarket support for controls system troubleshooting and mill revamps. This includes diagnosing and resolving issues with existing metal processing equipment, implementing automation solutions for system upgrades, and ensuring optimal performance of control systems. The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering and automation, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for control systems in existing metal processing equipment. This includes diagnosing issues, implementing solutions, and ensuring minimal downtime.
- Automation Solutions: Implement automation solutions for mill revamps and upgrades. This involves designing, programming, and integrating new control systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, maintenance, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of new systems. Effective communication and teamwork are essential.
- On-Site Inspections and Commissioning: Conduct on-site inspections, testing, and commissioning of equipment. This includes verifying system performance, making necessary adjustments, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Training: Train customers' operating and maintenance personnel on new systems and upgrades. This involves preparing training materials, conducting training sessions, and providing ongoing support.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation. This includes creating manuals, troubleshooting guides, and project reports to ensure accurate record-keeping and knowledge transfer.
Technical Skills:
- Electrical Engineering and Automation: Strong background in electrical engineering and automation. This includes knowledge of electrical circuits, control systems, and automation technologies.
- PLC Programming: Proficiency in PLC programming and control systems, such as Rockwell ControLogix and Siemens PLC systems and others. This involves writing, testing, and debugging PLC code.
- Drive Systems: Experience with drive systems and configuration tools, such as Rockwell and Siemens Drive. This includes configuring and troubleshooting variable frequency drives (VFDs) and servo drives.
- Electronic Interface Systems: Familiarity with electronic interface systems, such as Ethernet, DeviceNet, and Profibus. This involves understanding communication protocols and integrating devices into control systems.
- Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook. This includes creating electrical schematics, writing reports, and managing communication.

Education and Experience
- Education: B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. This provides the foundational knowledge required for the role.
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering and automation. This includes hands-on experience with control systems, automation projects, and troubleshooting.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 50%. This involves being flexible and available for on-site support and project work.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. This involves identifying issues, analyzing data, and developing effective solutions.
