The Role
Under the direction of the Vice President of Finance and the Controller, the Accounting Intern is responsible for supporting the accounting team in a variety of functions in order to gain practical experience and receive exposure to various aspects of the manufacturing accounting process. The intern will participate in monthly closing, account reconciliations, reporting, and various ad hoc analyses/projects. They will gain exposure to purchasing, accounts payable, account receivable, collections, and cash application. The intern will also gain a familiarity with our ERP system (SAP).
Requirements
Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Key Result Items
- Prepare & enter month-end journal entries and closing analyses.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with IC reconciliations.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and cash application.
- Assist with purchase order and LPO maintenance and communication with vendors.
- Monitor AR/AP related analyses and various related reporting.
- Assist in the company financial planning and budget management functions.
- Assist in the preparation of annual/quarterly/monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in the preparation of routine and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential and functioning in accordance with established standards

Education and Experience
- 0-2 years’ experience in accounting/Finance
- Degree in Accounting or Business preferred or equivalent accounting experience. (Completed or In progress)
- Proficient in using Microsoft software including word, excel, outlook and projects
- Proficient in Excel and similar accounting/project management system
