Position: Millwright / Millwright Apprentice

 

We are looking for a Millwright with a strong mechanical and technical background to join our team-oriented industrial facility. In this role, you will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting, and building production machinery for the Pulp and Paper industry, all while prioritizing quality and adhering to health and safety standards. The shift is Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 3:30pm.

 

Andritz Limited, a division of Andritz AG Austria, is a leading Refiner Service Center serving the North American Pulp and Paper industry. As the OEM, we are dedicated to supporting our customers' businesses with new and refurbished equipment, backed by our extensive technical expertise.

 

Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Disassemble equipment from the Pulp and Paper industry
  • Evaluate and measure disassembled components according to inspection protocols
  • Hoist and rig large components, moving them through the facility using overhead cranes
  • Assemble new and refurbished assemblies/subassemblies from provided parts
  • Maintain facility equipment as necessary

 

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following essential skills, abilities, and experience:

  • 3 + years of experience as a Millwright, specializing in large assemblies and equipment with a strong background in hoisting
  • Possession of a provincial or inter-provincial ticket for a Millwright is an asset; apprentices will also be considered
  • Skilled in working with complex and large mechanical assemblies
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision

 

Other valued, but non-essential skills, abilities, and experience include:

  • Prior experience in the Pulp and Paper industry is an asset
  • Experience with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is an asset
  • Machining experience is an asset
