What You Will Be Doing

 

Here’s an overview of your responsibilities and how you can leverage your expertise:

  • Draft and execute an annual strategic maintenance plan, collaborating with the team on Total Productive Maintenance (LEAN) and achieving objectives outlined in Supplier Quality Delivery Cost Morale, while providing Key Productivity Indicators.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of maintenance personnel or contractors, overseeing project implementation and adjusting as necessary, along with providing requested reports to management.
  • Utilize the Plant Maintenance module in SAP effectively, with training provided.
  • Manage the cost center for maintenance, with training provided.
  • Ensure accurate work instructions for quality maintenance and contractors.
  • Supervise and coach Technical Service employees, facilitating interviews and promoting motivation, knowledge, and flexible deployment.
  • Oversee all activities within the Technical Service department concerning assets within Andritz Feed & Biofuel Inc.
  • Promote Andritz as an employer of choice.
  • Proactively suggest process improvements for productivity, quality, and delivery time.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and leading by example.
  • Collaborate with the designated CAPEX team on project planning and implementation.
  • Address technical inquiries and support projects and capital investments.
  • Analyze PLC programs and liaise with OEMs for routine maintenance and repair.
  • Coordinate safety inspections of equipment.
  • Manage procurement of small equipment, tools, and facilities, as well as hiring technical staff.
  • Assess yearly spend on outsourced maintenance needs in consultation with the Production Manager.
  • Uphold personnel policies and communicate company objectives to department employees.
  • Implement Andritz Production System methodologies such as 5S and Continuous Improvement.
  • Prioritize safety for oneself and others, adhering to emergency response policies.
  • Manage emergency response resources and adhere to relevant procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario safety regulations.
  • Follow guidelines and instructions from the General Manager regarding priorities.
  • Work according to the principles of APS and Lean Manufacturing, setting a professional example.

What We’re Looking For

 

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following:

  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Technically proficient with hands-on problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work closely with outside contractors in a new production environment.
  • Ability to assist physically in setting up equipment and tools.
  • Proficient in welding, basic shop tools, and directing incoming machinery and supplies.
  • Strong organizational and methodical skills for space optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating machine repairs and maintenance.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Proficient in MS-Office; SAP experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to work in both shop floor and office environments.
  • Ability to present to small groups as needed.
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Valid passport and ability for occasional domestic and international travel
