We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Mechanic to support our feed and biofuel operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment critical to production. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and industrial processing equipment.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns in a timely manner.
- Maintain and service feed and biofuel production equipment such as pellet mills, hammer mills, mixers, coolers, dryers, and conveyors.
- Read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
- Inspect machinery components for wear, damage, or misalignment and replace or adjust parts as needed.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment or system upgrades.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with operations and other maintenance staff to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or equivalent trade certification preferred but not necessary.
- 3+ years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or agricultural setting; experience in feed or biofuel industries is an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, and rotating equipment.
- Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including exposure to dust, noise, and variable temperatures.
- Proven commitment to workplace safety and preventative maintenance practices.
