The Fabricator will be responsible for fabricating and assembling components used in the manufacturing of pellet mill machinery and related equipment. This position focuses on performing welding, metal fabrication, and operating various machines while ensuring quality and efficiency during the production process.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform welding (MIG/TIG) and metal fabrication on components such as dies, rollers, shafts, and frames for pellet mills using precise techniques to meet design specifications.
  • Operate various machine tools in the Fabrication department, including Plasma Cutters, Binding Presses, and CNC equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication of parts.
  • Ensure all fabricated components meet quality standards by performing in-process inspections on fabricated parts, inspecting components for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and structural integrity.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure efficient use of materials and equipment to meet production goals.
  • Operate and maintain fabrication equipment, ensuring proper setup and routine maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following industry safety standards and regulations.
  • Assist in the setup and assembly of machinery and components for production runs.
  • Transport materials, parts, and components to and from various fabrication workstations using lift trucks and overhead cranes.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot fabrication issues and provide feedback for continuous improvement of the fabrication process.

Qualifications (Required)

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prior work experience in fabrication and/or industrial manufacturing

Other Valued Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Preferred)

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary technical or vocational training program
  • Strong interest in mechanical work and manufacturing processes
