Purpose Statement
Are you passionate about providing exceptional technical support and threading services? Join our team as an On-Site Threading Services Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering on-site threading services to end customers on all machines requiring web threading. We are looking for candidates ideally residing within 90 minutes of a regional airport along the eastern seaboard, but we also welcome applicants from the west coast or Quebec.
Job Responsibilities and Tasks
- Provide technical product field support for Andritz and other OEM threading systems.
- Support customers and sales account managers with comprehensive threading audits.
- Actively participate in on-site assistance for start-ups and optimization.
- Perform technical tasks, including reading and understanding mechanical drawings, flow diagrams, and schematics, as well as mechanical and controls troubleshooting.
- Support sales and customer training sessions.
- Ensure timely completion of standard service reports, invoicing packages, and other administrative requirements.
- Maintain site safe work practices during work scope execution.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education, Professional Experience, and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of the paper-making and threading process is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of assembly/disassembly of equipment.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision in the field, both independently and with other Service Technicians.
- Must be self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Travel Requirements
- Extensive travel within North America (USA & Canada) on short notice, as needed via private/public transportation.
- Minimal potential for international travel.
- Overnight travel approximately 70%.
- Must be able to train in Vancouver, BC, Canada manufacturing facilities for an extended period at initial hiring, while also traveling to field sites with current technicians for on-the-job training.
- Please note, previous DUI convictions can result in being inadmissible to Canada.
