Job title: Piping manager

As the technical authority for the piping discipline, you act as the key reference for coordinating piping engineering on international industrial furnace projects.
In this role, you lead and synchronize engineering activities carried out largely with our sister company in India (with assignments lasting several months per year in India) as well as internally, with the objective of ensuring reliable, consistent, compliant engineering delivered on time.
You ensure compliance with client requirements, applicable standards, and cost/schedule objectives, while structuring control methods and continuous improvement practices.
Main Activities
- Technical Responsibilities – Piping Engineering:
· Overall supervision of engineering studies (layout, 3D modeling in E3D, routing, supports, isometries, BOM)
· Validation of technical choices (standards, stress analysis, fluid sizing)
· Definition of input data and framing of subcontracted studies
· Ensuring technical quality and consistency of deliverables
- Managerial Responsibilities – Head of Piping Section:
· Organization and management of the section (resources, workload, priorities)
· Supervision of the internal team and coordination of external partners
· Monitoring of deadlines, costs, and discipline planning
· Reporting and support during pre-project phases
- Project Coordination & Cross-functional Support:
· Management of outsourced piping engineering (sister company in India) and internal teams
· Daily follow-up of progress and team priorities
· Review and validation of deliverables (3D models, isometrics, drawings)
· Implementation of checklists, standards, and piping engineering quality control processes
· Critical review of studies: identification of inconsistencies, risks, and deviations
· Ensuring alignment with process constraints, maintenance requirements, and project specifications
· Continuous interface between engineering, project teams, site, and external partners
· Technical support to procurement and site teams (non-conformities, feedback/lessons learned)
- Continuous Improvement & Tools :
· Structuring engineering control and validation methods
· Optimization of design and coordination practices
· Monitoring of standards and evolution of piping specifications
· Contribution to tool improvements (E3D, automation, data engineering)
Internal and External Relations:
- Internal Relations: Engineering office, project managers, construction/site teams, procurement, other disciplines, international engineering teams
- External Relations: Subcontractors (India, France, etc.), suppliers, clients
Responsibilities :
· Accountable for the quality of piping engineering (internal and external)
· Direct responsibility for coordination and validation of studies
· Autonomy in organization, control methods, and technical decisions
· Direct impact on project performance (quality, schedule, cost)
Required Skills :
- Technical Skills :
· Expertise in industrial piping and general installation
· Proficiency in 3D tools (ideally E3D / SmartPlant / others)
· Strong ability to train, analyze, challenge, and validate engineering studies
· Knowledge of outsourced engineering environments and processes
· Fluent in English and French (mandatory)
- Personal Skills :
· Excellent coordination and international communication skills (focus on India)

Mechanical Engineer with at least 10 years of experience in industrial piping.
Required combined experience:
- Engineering (Design Office)
- Field experience (construction / erection / workshop)
- Coordination of engineering teams, ideally with India
Strong ability to structure, manage, and ensure the reliability of engineering within a demanding international environment.
