Job title:  Staff Accountant - General Ledger Specialist

Major Responsibilities:

• Preparing and entering general ledger entries as necessary;
• Complete assigned monthly close procedures;
• Prepare assigned monthly general ledger account reconciliations;
• Assist with analyzing financial statements and related cost center expenses on a monthly basis, correct and or report on variances;
• Assist with financial and tax audits;
• Assist with preparing tax data required for state and federal tax returns;
• Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls;
• Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Experience preparing and posting general ledger entries;
• Ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts;
• At least 5 years accounting experience; preferably with a manufacturing or industrial equipment company utilizing an ERP system;
• Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills with an internal customer service focus;
• Microsoft Excel and Word experience a must;
• Detail oriented and organized in work;
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines;
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, company management, and external agencies;
• Proactive, independent and desire to learn.

Preferred:

• Experience using PowerPoint a plus;
• Forecasting and Budgeting;
• SAP experience is strongly preferred.
