Position Summary
This position consults with all levels of the organization to make decisions that will have a highly significant financial, policy and statutory compliance impact. This individual provides leadership for the company finance function, assuming responsibility for financial direction and management.
The Senior Controller works closely with the President, senior management team, and division and regional financial management to contribute to the development and overall management of the business. This position functions as a business partner focusing on identifying, evaluating, and recommending corrective actions and opportunities which are directly focused on meeting financial performance objectives and protection of corporate assets.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
• Oversees operating and financial results, forecasts, budgets and analysis, including interpreting data to internal and external personnel.
• Ensures compliance with established company policies and procedures
• Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
• Reviews planning process and suggests improvements to current methods
• Developing plans for growth to increase company profit while also reducing expenditure
• Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination
• Works with the President and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process
• Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share
• Applies accounting rules, policies and practices in alignment with U.S. GAAP, IFRS principles and regional guidelines.
• Supports internal control policies and procedures to ensure safeguard of the company’s assets and reliability of financial information
• Takes a proactive role in building and maintaining strong working relationships with regional executive and financial management staff
• Maintains a high standard for timely and accurate financial reporting within the region
• Manages the budget cycle for division and ensures that tight financial control is maintained within the group with regard to critical performance indicators and spending constraints
• Prepare executive presentations, operational summaries, board-level materials, and business performance updates.
• Facilitate decision-making by providing concise analysis, recommendations, and business insights.
• Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational discipline.

Education, professional experience, and qualification requirements
• Bachelor degree in finance/accounting or related field with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in finance in a corporate/manufacturing environment
• Solid work experience in the manufacturing industry or technology industry
• Experience in leading a regional finance function at business area level
• Excellent management and supervisory skills
• Experience working closely with executive leadership teams in a strategic or finance leadership capacity.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex priorities in a fast-paced environment.
