Position Summary

We are seeking a results-driven Strategic ProcurementManager with a strong track record in cost savings and category management. This role will lead strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple locations, manage complex contracts, and optimize supplier performance to support business goals.

Procurement

  • Receive, evaluate, execute and manage procurement requests of goods and services for Andritz Paper Services locations in the US and Canada.
  • Ensure that all Procurement Activities comply with Global Supply Chain and Procurement policies
  • Represents procurement team for cross-functional activities within the organization
  • Maintains systems to show accurate details of supplier contracts, purchasing agreements, certificates, etc.
  • Addresses vendor quality issues, handling complaints and raw material shortages as directed for supported materials.
  • Issuing status reports on projects - reporting weekly reports, statistics, etc., or as needed.  Also create weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports for other procurement activities as needed.
  • Supports Strategic Sourcing group to assist in locating and managing strategically sourced categories including Transportation, Bearings, MRO, etc.… and to assist in coordination of information from plants to the sourcing group
  • Reviews and approves or rejects new vendor requests in conjunction with global sourcing policies and procurement guidelines
  • Monitors vendor contracts and agreements for compliance and auditing
  • Other activities as required to support purchasing functions.

Sourcing/Category Management Support

  • Preparing and distributing Request for Quote packages as directed.
  • Identification, selection, evaluation and development of Suppliers.
  • Managing/monitoring consultant agreements, NDAs, and insurance certificates.
  • Leading negotiations with suppliers before PO creation.
  • Value analysis, process chain analysis, make vs. buy decisions

Travel

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in procurement, supply chain/logistics or general business with at least five (5) years of experience or at least ten (10) years of experience in similar field in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering cost savings through strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Experience managing procurement across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency in SAP S/4 Hana procurement modules preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience leading strategic vendor contract negotiations for goods and services in excess of $1M USD.
  • Experience with vendor contract management including contract creation, work with legal team, and contract retention policies.
  • Experience in all Microsoft Office software, and advanced knowledge of EXCEL including Pivot tables and Power BI.
  • Experience with international vendors and international distribution networks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in Supply Chain/Logistics is a plus.
  • Experience in the paper services or manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with Celonis, Jaggaer SRM, and Microsoft 365.
  • Procurement or supply chain certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS).
  • Experience with AP processes is a plus.
  • Familiar with CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomers) market, textile reinforcements and yarns and fibers is a plus.
  • Experience using an ERP, MRP or Legacy operating systems is a plus (SAP/Point Man/Syteline, Oracle, MRP or SRM preferred).
