The Project Logistics Manager at Andritz Inc supports and assists in the development, organization and management of multi-divisional logistics projects and procedures. The Project Logistics Manager manages the multi divisional logistics processes for Pulp & Paper, Metals and Nonwoven divisions from manufacturers to customers including international inbound and outbound as well as domestic logistics functions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Daily interaction with third party logistics providers and support of internal stakeholders to execute the projects with the most efficient way to meet the customer’s satisfaction and requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and define project needs and scope to ensure that internal and external customer service, project requirements and cost expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Provide technical logistics expertise and direct project to cross functional teams.
  • Participate in strategic planning and facilitate action on the designed projects.
  • Supervise and control project milestones, tasks, scope, timelines, expenses, and risk impacting projects in a timely manner.
  • Process international and domestic shipments by verifying destination, route, rates, delivery times, documentation, certificates, executing bookings and dispatching to carriers.
  • Improve logistics processes and reduce logistics costs, manage negotiations and contracts.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, developing, and leading internal cross-functional teams in multiple projects resulting in measurable cost savings.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders as well as with the third-party logistics service providers.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of the shipping documentation; domestic and international, are completed and maintained at all the times.
  • Ensure compliance with government agencies.
  • Thoroughly manage and update shipment information to reflect any changes.
  • Engage in problem solving and troubleshooting activities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of Logistics functions.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of export and import rules and regulations.
  • Understanding of oversized capital project move shipments.
  • Ability to read technical transportation drawings is a plus.
  • Excellent problem solving and resolution skills
  • Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Detail oriented and excellent follow up skills.
  • Should be self-motivated, proactive and capable of working independently.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word. SAP knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience and Education

  • 5-7 years of experience in international trade related activities including import and export functions, and/or experience in domestic trucking/heavy haul industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in international business/Trade, Logistics or Supply Chain
