Brief Description 
The Plant Engineering Lead will have overall responsibility to lead, mentor, and develop the Project 
Engineering and Structural Engineering Departments.  This position will report to the Director of 
Engineering and will  lead the group that provides Process, Mechanical and Structural Engineering support, 
calculations, and equipment sizing for a wide variety of air pollution control projects: baghouse fabric filters, 
circulating dry scrubbers, sorbent injection equipment, material handling systems, regenerative thermal 
oxidizers, and wet electrostatic precipitators. 

 

Key Responsibilities  
• Manage the engineering workload among the team members. 
• Supervise the preparation of mass and energy balances, piping and instrument diagrams, heat transfer 
calculations, pressure drop calculations, and fan and material-handling sizing, etc. 
• Supervise the preparation equipment specifications and review vendor bids for compliance with project 
requirements. 
• Assign plant engineering resources to projects. 
• Drive continuous improvement by establishing procedures, implementing system changes, monitoring 
performance, and making corrections as needed while ensuring compliance with quality and safety 
guidelines. 
• Utilize Autodesk Construction Cloud and other data analysis tools to gather and analyze project data, 
ensuring accurate reporting on project progress, productivity, and standards adherence. 
• Generate regular reports for management, providing insights into key performance indicators and 
recommending improvements. 
• Assist the Director of Engineering with performance reviews and facilitating professional development 
for team members. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership. 
• Strive to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste. 
• Advocate on behalf of team members and secure the resources needed for the team to excel, including 
researching and proposing capital investments. 
• Help create and oversee project budgets and engage in cost management strategies. 
• Collaborate with project managers to define and provide timely updates on plant engineering scope, 
budgets, timelines, and deliverables. 
• Evaluate and recommend new CAD tools and technologies that align with the company's needs. 
• Develop and maintain successful relationships with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications (Required) 
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years of related engineering experience.
• Prior experience leading a team of engineers.
• Experience using CAD platforms and SAP software.

 

Other Valued Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Preferred) 
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies a plus.
• Experience in managing large-scale capital / industrial projects.
