Head of Service workshop, installation and logistic
The candidate will report directly to the Managing Director and will lead a team dedicated to site installation, logistic and workshop assembly/welding in our facility in Algete. Special focus and commitment will be strongly asked to walk the cultural change to zero accidents and “no harm” embraced by Andritz group.
The team is responsible for refurbishing hydroelectric turbines, governor and auxiliary systems, ensuring on time, top quality and within cost, performances.
Growing business opportunities are bringing a motivating environment whereas direct reports the candidate will manage 2 shopfloor resources, 4 mechanical supervisors and 2 teams of external manpower developing, the first, component assembly, refurbishment and reassembly and the second, welding, grinding and repairs of hydraulic components. Logistic activities are, as well, include in the perimeter of team responsibilities.
The role foresees to be part of the Head of Function team within the company and includes competences related to target setting, conflict resolution, talent development, salary management and performance evaluations.
The candidate will work in close collaboration with the peer profile in Schio, sharing resources, tools, processes and methods. The team will coordinate its duties and responsibilities with all company departments (e.g.: sales, project management, engineering and quality).
Key Responsibilities
- Define manufacturing procedures, specifications, and purchasing needs.
- Oversee equipment maintenance.
- Support sales with offer preparation
- Control warehouse operations.
- Propose equipment investments and monitor department KPIs.
- Evaluate and support external suppliers.
- Contribute to scheduling and recovery planning.
- Support environmental, HSE, and certification processes (e.g., ISO3834).
- Coordinate all installation activities and related documentation.
- Define roles and responsibilities for site teams and organize project site structures.
- Support project managers with installation planning and meetings.
- Manage logistics and transport between workshop, suppliers, and sites.
- Develop recovery plans for time and cost issues.
- Ensure compliance with global site standards and HSE procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and implement improvements.
Requirements
- Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Naval Engineering.
- Fluency in Spanish (native preferred), with knowledge of English, Portuguese, and/or Italian.
- Proven experience managing workshop and/or installation teams.
- Strong background in mechanical manufacturing and assembly.
- Excellent technical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to optimize resources and schedules effectively.
